Project Description

Building End-to-End Telecommunications Infrastructure to Connect Vital Military Installations

Truestone developed a diverse, end-to-end telecommunication infrastructure running from Fort Richardson, Alaska, to Fort Lewis, Washington, that provides the federal government with 7x24x365 use on Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) routes. This is a complex system that includes both undersea and terrestrial cables. The optical transport routes comprising this system were approved by the federal government and designed to operate without sharing any facility, duct, or conduit between the two routes.

  • Design the AKP (Alaska Pacific) system with no bandwidth limitations to increase information availability, enable network centric warfare capability, consolidate DOD information technology, and provide new end-to-end capabilities.
  • Provide final as-built drawings, maps, and circuit testing results for review and acceptance prior to going online.
  • Provide Complete Service Delivery Lifecycle support including Help Desk and technical support.
  • Plan for possible bandwidth expansion to meet increasing needs of the installations.
