Truestone's Ken Bodenheimer Named President of HIMSS - National Capital Area

FAIRFAX, VA, Jul 01 (MARKET WIRE) --

Truestone, LLC is pleased to announce that Ken Bodenheimer became President of the Health Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) National Capital Area Chapter on July 1, 2009. HIMSS is the leading healthcare IT association and played a key role in obtaining $37 billion in stimulus funding for the creation of a nationwide network of electronic health records.

Bodenheimer has been a member of HIMSS-NCA for 5 years and recently served as Vice President. His 30-year career in the healthcare industry spans clinical, financial and administrative systems and informatics -- in both the federal and commercial markets. Mr. Bodenheimer has held management positions at Abbott Laboratories, First Coast Systems and MediSolutions.

During his one-year term, Bodenheimer looks forward to continuing the great work of his predecessors and HIMSS at-large by expanding membership and promoting the adoption of healthcare IT. "This is a unique time for the healthcare industry," said Bodenheimer. "With reform at the top of the agenda and such a big push to realize the potential of electronic medical records, our members have a critical role to play in implementing solutions that impact the quality, efficiency and cost of healthcare for generations to come."

Bodenheimer is Truestone's Director of Business Development for Healthcare IT. He is responsible for Truestone's healthcare IT strategy and execution -- including capture management and service provider partnerships. "Ken is the proven expert Truestone needs to lead our growing healthcare IT practice," said John Sankovich, VP of Truestone's federal civilian business unit. "His thought-leadership will enable Truestone to fully leverage our industry experience to make a significant impact on the security and interoperability of government healthcare systems."

Bodenheimer earned his BS from Fairfield University and MBA from George Mason University. He is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) and is the author of several publications.
