U.S. Coast Guard Case Study
Our engineers, technicians and program managers are trusted partners within C2CEN, TISCOM and USCG Headquarters. We have proven our knowledge, capabilities and experience with critical programs like OneNet, Rescue 21 and Deepwater.
What is it?
Deepwater is a critical multi-year program to modernize and replace the Coast Guard’s aging ships and aircraft and improve command and control logistics systems. Deepwater will introduce three classes of new cutters, new fixed-wing aircraft, new and upgraded helicopters and unmanned air vehicles (UAVs). All of these assets are linked with command, control, communications and computers,
intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems and supported by an integrated logistics regime.
The Challenge
Deepwater is a massive undertaking — upgrading 49 existing cutters and 93 helicopters and acquiring 91 new ships, 35 fixed-wing aircraft, 34 helicopters and 76 UAVs. Ensuring interoperability among each of these platforms is an incredible engineering and logistical challenge.
Solution
Truestone is responsible for Deepwater Command and Control (CGC2) systems installation, support and training. We deploy and support the entire communications suite (RF, search radar, etc.) — shipboard and in command centers. Truestone also provides a variety of other high value services for the U.S. Coast Guard:
- Shore, Aircraft & Shipboard C4ISR
- Connectivity & network monitoring
- Asset Tracking
- HW/SW Configuration, Integration & Installation
- SDLC Training and Support
- Program Management
Impact/Result
Our field engineers conducted the first underway training with the newly acquired cutter USCGC Bertholf. We worked the ships crew members on the operational and technical aspects of all C4ISR systems, showing them its capabilities and how it can be utilized for the various Coast Guards missions. Truestone engineers are currently supporting the Deepwater project providing Subject Matter Expert support for all C4ISR systems this includes USCG Cutters, Command Centers and Aircraft. Our engineers have received many accolades for their support of this vital project.
